Some FUN auditions and new website this month!

Hope you're having a great day! I've been doing a lot of work lately to get my marketing materials snazzed up. I'll be getting some new headshots soon, after fixing a crown in my smile. And, my sweetie has been redesigning my official website to make it current. I'll be able to blog from my website and upload my iphone videos right from there. I have some fun videos for "Joan Blair In Hollywood" a new web-show that I'm developing.

AND, it's been a great month of fun auditions! I had the privilege of auditioning for the new Batman film. It was a hoot! It's pretty top-secret, so I can't tell you anything else. And, I auditioned for an Indie Thriller film. It was a crazy audition because I had to act as if I were being shocked with electrodes on my head. Then, I had to act as if I was being stabbed in the leg with an ice pick. Lovely!!! But, it was a great challenge for me, as an actress. I also auditioned for a couple of new TV Pilots. So, we'll see what happens!

I'll keep you posted for the launch of my new official website!
Have a great week!

Had A Great Time At Oscar Gift Suite In Beverly Hills! Video With Sarahi Fashions!

I had a great time attending the WOW Creations Oscar Gift Suite in Beverly Hills. It was at the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive. There were so many wonderful designers and vendors in attendance. I made several videos interviewing the designers and showing their creations. I'm developing a new web show called, "Joan Blair In Hollywood." I'll be doing episodes around town and also sharing about being an actor in LA . We're in the development stage of my show. So, the videos will be impromptu and casual. Look for my videos here and on Twitter and Facebook. In this video, I interviewed Suzette, the founder of Sarahi Fashions. Video will be uploaded later today. Thanks for checking back.

Happy President's Day Weekend! Had a fun audition for Night of the Living Dead: 3D- Resurrection!

Hi there! Well, it POURED in LA last night, but today is clearing up nicely.

I had a FUN audition yesterday for Night of the Living Dead: 3D- Resurrection! It's being Directed and Produced by the same man that did the 3D remake in 2004. It was a hoot! I auditioned for a lady who is the FIRST one bitten by the zombies!!!
I would really LOVE to book this role. I don't really watch Horror films, but I LOVE being in them.
I played the killer in a fun Horror Short film, "GOTTA MAKE THEM ANGELS" a few years ago. I also Associate Produced the Short. I played a Christian Midwestern Mom who went bonkers when she found out that her daughters had boyfriends and were being nasty!
I'll fill you in if I book the role! Have a great President's Day Holiday weekend!

I'm back to my blog now that I have a Google account!

Wow! It's been a few years since I posted here. I started doing Myspace instead, then Facebook, now Twitter. But, now that Blogspot is under Google, it's much more compatible with the other Social Media sites. So, I'll start blogging here.

The Social Media revolution is amazing! I can't believe how much people depend on the web and cell phones. I fought getting a Smart phone, because I didn't want to lose the human connection. In my acting class, I find that SO many young actors are SO distracted. It really hurts their work to be SO attached to texting and a cell phone. Many of them have the attention span of a lizard! We need to find a healthy balance.

SO much has happened since I've been gone. I started having gall bladder problems a couple of years ago. So, I finally had it removed last summer. I lost a lot of weight and I feel so much better now. I've modified my diet to be much healthier and I feel great!
I've had lots of auditions over the last year. I'll start posting some of the memorable ones, as I think of them. Yesterday, I had two great auditions. One was for the Pilot "Danni Lowenski." It was a lot of fun! Then, I auditioned for Jamie Foxx's new show, "Anthology Night Tales." It's like a Hitchcock- Tales From the Crypt. It should be a lot of fun. I really hope I book it! I LOVE Jamie. I worked on his show years ago. I played a lady in a pink ballet tutu with a dancing dog, also in a tutu. Jamie and I improv-ed and had a blast! Have a great night! Talk to you soon! Busy Spring in Hollywood!

Here's a photo of me, with Mike O'Malley, on location for "My Name Is Earl." I was in the Episode "Stole A Badge." I had a fabulous time! This was at the end of last season. The show is on Hiatus right now, but I hope to go back on next season.
It's been a crazy few months. I haven't been keeping up this blog, but I'm changing that right now. I've been writing my blogs on Myspace and at the Actorsite Forum. So, I'll start up my journal here again and post the really fun ones on Myspace. I've had some crazy auditions in the last couple of months, but NO big bookings. I auditioned for the new "Get Smart" movie starring Steve Carrell. I auditioned for a big Russian Gal that Steve asks to dance. It was SO much fun! The scene is going to be a riot! I think they probably cast a real Russian gal.

I also auditioned for a BIG "Top-Secret" film that is shooting in the South Pacific.
It was SO exciting to go to a BIG Production office and meet with an Oscar-winning Producer.
I also met with his Director. We had a nice conversation, then they gave me a scene to learn, on the spot.
It was wonderful! But, I don't think I booked the role, cuz they're filming now. Boohoo!
Even though I didn't book either of these jobs, I learned SO much from the audition process
and made some great contacts. Hopefully, I'll be writing about a booking soon!
Take care everyone! Joan

I'm excited to be working on the Feature Film, "The Wedding Video"
with Producer, Linda Palmer. I love her positiive attitude and freewheeling energy and determination. It will also be fun to work with Director,
Todd Wade.

I just read that Linda's working on a new project with Echelon Entertainment. I'm friends with Eric Leizel. I used to help out in his Development Dept., when it was LionShare Entainment. Then, he merged with Echelon. Small world in Hollywood!

BOOKED A FUN ROLE ON "MY NAME IS EARL!"

I'm SO excited! I booked an awesome little role on "My Name Is Earl."
We shot yesterday. It was so much fun! I play a woman at a rest stop bathroom. The storyline in the episode is freakin' hysterical! We follow Earl and Randy as they share about their experience of finding a police badge and the trouble that ensues! It's Episode #22, titled "Found A Badge" and will air on Thursday, April 27th, 2006, at 9pm on NBC!
In my scene, I got to work with Mike O"Malley from the hit show, "Yes, Dear!" He was a great guy and wonderful to work with. I'm so sorry that his show is no longer on the air. We also got to work with Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee. They were also great to be around. I'm so glad that Jason is well and back on his feet from his bout with the chicken pox.

I'll post some more pix from the set soon.

My episode of CRIMINAL MINDS aired on October 5th!

So, Criminal Minds is getting lots of good reviews. I had a great role on Episode 3, which aired on Wednesday, October 5th.
I play Mrs. Walker, the wife of the main suspect on the episode. It was fun to see my scene because my husband runs me over with his car, while running from the FBI. It was a trip! It looks like he PLOWS into me as hard as possible. But, I did have a stunt woman, so no one got hurt. I'm sure they'll rerun the episode, in the spring, if anyone who missed it, wants to see it.
I want to thank everyone who called or emailed me with congratulations. It's great having friends who like to see your work!

TODAY was my birthday!!!

Well! I had a WONDERFUL birthday today! (Actually August 24th.) I went to a wonderful dinner in Burbank at the Smokehouse Restaurant. It was incredible! And, yesterday, we had a party in a Cold Reading class that I teach. That was wonderful!
We had a great time in class. Then, we had munchies and drinks and spent some time getting to know each other better!
Thanks to all for a great time! I will surely remember this birthday!

"I recently shot a GREAT role on CRIMINAL MINDS, a new drama on CBS!"

So, I've had a great couple of weeks! I booked a wonderful Co-Star role on "Criminal Minds."
It's a new crime drama that will air on CBS. It's a little like CSI, in that, the agents investigate crimes.
But, it's really a lot more like "Silence of the Lambs." The story follows a crack team of FBI profilers as they delve
into the minds of criminals. The crimes are on-going, so they hope to catch the criminals and stop them.
Mandy Patinkin stars as the lead FBI agent. Thomas Gibson is on his team. He played the husband on Dharma and Greg.
The other guy on the team is Shemar Moore. He played Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless, for you Soap fans!
He's an African-American hottie!

I had a great time working on the show. I play Mrs. Walker, the wife of one of their suspects. In the story,
we live in Palm Beach, FL, so, we shot in Long Beach. Joe Hart played my hubbie. Our story ends with a bang!
You HAVE to tune in to check out the action. Our episode is #3, "Won't Get Fooled Again." The show will air on
Wednesday nights, on CBS. It premieres near the end of September. Please try to catch it, if you can.
Criminal Minds is getting a lot of great publicity as being one of the BEST new shows coming to Primetime!
